If the ME-709 wasn’t quite what you had in mind, but are still searching for one of the best upright exercise bikes, then check out the Exerpeutic Folding Bike. It’s the most convenient product we saw in terms of bikes, and it’ll give you a serious workout.
Much like our previous product, it also supports users up to 300 pounds; however, we felt it wasn’t quite as stable as the last, which could be a hindrance for heavier users. In contrast, it is still relatively sturdy and well-built, with steel tubing, and the seat made it very easy and natural to get on and off of.
To add on, there are leg stabilizers which make sure the bike doesn’t tip over, and if you need to move it from one place to another, the wheels and overall light feel of the bike make it easy.
The ergonomic seat is quite large for a bike that takes up so little floor space. In fact, it may be too big if you’re a really petite person. Thanks to generous padding, it’s also quite cushy and comfortable. It’s easy to adjust, and suits users ranging anywhere from 5 feet and 3 inches, to 6 feet and 1 inch in height.
How about sound?
This upright exercise bike runs smooth and quietly, due to the three-piece “high torque” crank system, which makes sure the pedaling motion doesn’t randomly stop. The 8 different resistance levels make for smooth pedaling, and allow you to move up in difficulty as your fitness level advances. It also lets you switch up your routines.
The V-belt drive and flywheel are what is going to make the workout so quiet. You can listen to music or watch TV without any annoying noises coming from the bike, and if you enjoy working out while others are sleeping, this is a great solution.
Let’s move on to the technology aspect:
The LCD screen is quite simple but works well. The heart rate monitor and calorie counter are included, however, we did notice that the results weren’t always the most accurate, so take this with a grain of salt. The speed and mileage data, however, proved to be much more accurate, which is a great way of tracking progress.
Oh, and did we mention the fact that it folds?
Yes! It folds to half of its normal size, to make storage much easier, as well as relocating the item to another room, or whatever you like. If you only have a small space to work out in, this is also a great solution.
So, are there any other downsides?
The only real complaint we had, is that the pedals are mounted farther forward than the other bikes we reviewed. This is, of course, to help it fold, but the downside to that is that you have to put more effort into your pedaling.
This is great for burning calories, but due to the fact that there is no back support, you could apply more stress to your back.

This spin bike for home use is relatively lightweight, however notably solid and sturdy. The 40-pound flywheel is probably the most notable feature, but we’ll get back to that later. It’s also adjustable, making it suitable for just about any user.
First off, the design is attractive, and will definitely not be an eyesore in your home. The red and silver are perfectly contrasting and add a modern, sleek twist to the spinning bike.
Let’s start back with the flywheel. If you’re not an experienced rider, you should know that a 40-pound chromed solid flywheel is much heavier than what you’ll typically find in small exercise bikes.
What does that mean?
It means that the workout is going to be more effective, directly in relation to the weight of the flywheel; and one clocking in at 40 pounds is going to help give the feeling of that real road-bike momentum that you don’t get in most products at this price.
It has felt pads for adjustable pressure resistance, as well. So, the heavier the flywheel, the smoother your ride will be.
Speaking of resistance, changing up the intensity of your workout or intervals is essential if you want to keep surprising your body, thus advancing your level of fitness. Change it up with the handy tension knob. Simply twist to increase or decrease the level of resistance.
Comfort is also crucial, right?
